After overcoming cancer, Lucy Speechley who is 16 years old from the Cotswolds, has had a great achievement in GCSE grades. In December 2009 Living near Chipping Campden, Lucy was diagnosed with cancer. After she completed only one term of her year 10 at Chipping Campden School , she had a treatment which fought against the cancer. The process of the treatment has taken around 7 months.

She was undergoing radio and chemo therapy at the hospital of Birmingham Children . Currently, she is better now and she can go to school regularly. Interestingly, she had made a great achievement in her academic study. In fact, she has got three A*s, two As and for last subjects with Bs. She said happily that she was really pleased working hard in her study. She also expressed gratitude to her teachers, every friends and everyone who has helped her in learning in order to get a successful achievement in GCSE. She hopes that she can work hard and get a better achievement at her A-level.

For new academic study, Lucy plans to study several subjects at Grammar Girls School of Stratford including chemistry, biology, math and physics because she aims to learn at university in field of medicine. Mother of Lucy, Emma was happy to see great achievement of her daughter. Emma also added that her daughter has done great job. Indeed, she worked hard while she stayed in hospital and had a few exams there. Being a parent, Emma told that it was a hard time but Lucy has been an amazing girl who just kept smiling. To show great honor to the Hospital where her daughter has had a successful treatment, family of Lucy has collected money for charity and has raised £8,000 at a lunch in Stratford .
