The minority of the opposition Human Rights Party raise on Sunday a conference in America , expecting to strengthen its call for enlarging American-Cambodians who are not much interested in politics.

The Human Rights Party, which got only three seats in the National Assembly last time, will look for enlarging its goal for the local elections in 2012 and the national elections in 2013.

Kem Sokha, the Human Right Party leader, said that the HRP now is in the fight way, which was not for the rural people, the poor, the simple people, the miserable people, but also for those people who were in power, the rich, and those who got everything like freedom, happiness and money.

“Our intention is to save the weak and the poor, and we will not ruin those people who already have happiness, but we will destroy the corruption and all bad things,” he said.

Keo Sambath, who was voted to be the leader of the party branch in North America, said that the conference was only the second time for the party since its formation in 2007 since then, fans have increased from 4 to 17 American states.

He said that even though the level of the interests of the some people among the people who lived in America refused, but the party would try to strengthen them.

He said that he wanted to make sure that our Cambodian people in America strongly stand up, and not afraid of persecution or some things but all of us will try our best to get freedom and peace.

Tep Sothy, a high school teacher from Chicago, said that before she thought that this party leader was bad, but when she saw him, she knew that he was a good person and leader.
